Autumn is here. All things fall are welcomed and I know there are some fall fanatics who could not wait for fall season. With fall season, this is a great time to make not only apple pie but to make apple pie vodka.
Ingredients
vodka
medium apples*
cinnamon stick
star anise
whole cardamom pods
nutmeg
whole cloves
vanilla extract
granulated sugar
ginger (optional)
Tools Needed
- Large container
- saucepan
- cheese cloth
How to Make Apple Pie Vodka
Slice apple into thin slivers.
In a large glass or plastic container, combine vodka, sliced apples, cinnamon stock, star anise, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger.
Set in the fridge to soak for 48 hours. Try to remember to shake the container a couple times.
Once soaked and all the flavor is infused, strain into a clean container through a fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth.
Combine sugar with ½ cup water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until dissolved. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Add ½ cup of simple syrup to the infused vodka and vanilla extract and stir until blended.
Store in a sealed glass container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

*The best type of apples are the sweet and flavorful variety are recommended like gala, fuji, or Braeburn apples.
